If you are a cricket fan and really waiting for this season of CPL T20 ( Caribbean Premier League), today we have got something interesting for you. No doubt CPL is one of the most watched cricket leagues. It rose into popularity in a short span of time and continues to attract cricket lovers from all over the world. CPL 2022 is going to be the 10th season of this league.

General information

The league was founded in 2013 by Cricket West Indies as Caribbean Premier League. It actually replaced the Caribbean domestic T20, which was a twenty20 competition in the Caribbean. The league is currently sponsored by Hero MotoCorp and has 6 teams. All teams are from the West Indies. The event generally takes place between July to August.

Format

CPL is a T20 tournament game that is played between 6 teams. It is divided into a group stage and a knockout stage. In the group stage, each team plays 10 matches out of them three are at their home. On the other hand, the playoff stage consists of only three matches including two semi-finals and one final. The play-off round is played by the top 4 teams. Like previous years, CPL 2022 will also be played by 6 teams and in two stages. There will be 33 matches in the overall season.

Venue for CPL 2022

All CPL T20 matches will be held in 4 locations and that are Guyana, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago. The first seven matches of the game will be played in Warner Park Sporting Complex, Basseterre, in Saint Kitts and Nevis. The next matches will be held at Darren Sammy cricket ground, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.

After that, Queen’s Park, Port of Spain, and Trinidad and Tobago will become the first for the next 8 CPL 2022 matches. Finally, the last 11 matches including the final and semi-finals will be held in Providence Stadium or Guyana National Stadium in Guyana.
