Exciting new Katmandu Park in the Dominican Republic:
On March 15, Katmandu Park, the brand new theme park included in the Falcon’s Resort by Meliá | All Suites Punta Cana hotel, will officially open its doors as part of the “resortainment” concept, a mixture of luxury hotel services and entertainment. It is located on Alemania Avenue, which is very close to tourist resorts and only 16 km from Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, home to Playa Bonita.
In a kind of “combo”, the park will be available to the public as part of the entertainment at the new hotel of the Meliá Hotels International and Falcon’s Beyon chain, which opened its doors in December.
Innovative technology will be featured in the park, originally developed at Falcon’s X-Lab, located at Falcon’s Beyond’s headquarters in Orlando, Florida. Among the technologies are the ON!X interactive theatre, which embeds real-time content, feedback, and response abilities, altogether inside a 5D theatre layout, creating immersive and engaging massive multiplayer video game environments.
Caribbean’s first theme park
Katmandu Park, Punta Cana, pledges to convey to its visitor’s immersive storytelling adventures, incorporating four tented attractions involving multiple licensed technologies, along with 36 holes of mini-golf, an outdoor ropes course, and a thematic carousel.
There are 10 thrill rides in the park that will offer a real-time interactive experience, with special effects including wind, smell, light, and audio.
